This page presents some frequently asked questions (FAQ) and answers
concerning the Domain Registration System (DRS) of Knipp.
Besides the information offered here, we have a number
of other FAQs that deal with further topics, like the domain system in
general, for example. You can find a list of links to these documents in the
column to the right.
Every domain that you register with Knipp is being operated
via the DRS and can be found in your list of domains. Some domain types however,
especially in the ccTLD area, are in need of manual steps in the scope
of both registration as well as management of those domains. Therefore no
fully automated procedures can be provided.
No, both end customers as well as resellers can use this system. Thus,
there are no changeover difficulties if you have been an end customers at first
and later want to become a reseller.
Online registrations will be processed in realtime. That is to say, only a
few seconds after you send your registration you will receive a confirmation.
This works for all registries, which provide a realtime registration system
likewise. For .de domains a registration takes approximately 30 minutes.
All procedures can be processed by using a user-friendly web interface.
In addition to this, registrations of new domains and domain transfers between
registrars can be put into effect via e-mail application forms. This second
possibility is preferable if you use automated processes yourself.
Basically every e-mail consists of a clearly arranged textual part, which
is easy readable for the human eye. The second part is designed for customers,
whose e-mails are managed by a robot. This second part is easy parseable and
fully documented.
