You can order domains easily by using our
web interface,
if you are a registered customer of
Knipp. Registering is
easy and can be done in just a few steps.
Another possiblity is to order domains via
e-mail application form.
The e-mail registration has the advantage that it can be done automatically.
Many customers use robots on their web site that send e-mail application forms to us.
However, using these forms is suited for experts only, since they contain quite a
few technical terms, which are unfortunately necessary. We have prepared a page
with explanations which will help
you to complete the form.
Naming regulations
As opposed to other domain types, there are no registration restrictions
or lists of prohibited domain names for .com and .net domains.
Only the following rules exist, mainly for technical reasons.

Domain names may not be longer than 63 characters.

Domain names may neither start nor end with a hyphen.
-
Domain names may not include a hyphen as the third or fourth character.
For example the registration of
“xn--xeno.net”
is not possible.
 Important:
Since December 14th, 2003, .com and .net domains allow for the usage of
local language characters. More information on our special page about
Internationalized Domain Names ( IDN).

The usage is regulated as follows.

net stands for “network service provider”.
This includes technical networks as well as networks in
the broader sense, like cooperative societies
and other consortiums.

An examination if the registrant actually belongs to the originally intended
user circle does not take place.
