Registrations
You can order domains easily by using our
web interface,
if you are a registered customer of
Knipp. Registering is
easy and can be done in just a few steps.
Another possiblity is to order domains via
e-mail application form.
The e-mail registration has the advantage that it can be done automatically.
Many customers use robots on their web site that send e-mail application forms to us.
However, using these forms is suited for experts only, since they contain quite a
few technical terms, which are unfortunately necessary. We have prepared a page
with explanations which will help
you to complete the form.
Naming regulations
As opposed to other domain types, there are no registration restrictions
or lists of prohibited domain names for .org domains.
Only the following rules exist, mainly for technical reasons.
-
Domain names may only consist of the characters from “a” to “z”,
the digits “0” to “9”, and the hyphen. Since January 15th, 2005,
the german umlauts “ä”, “ö” and “ü” are also allowed in .org domain names.
-
Domain names may not be longer than 63 characters.
-
Domain names may neither start nor end with a hyphen.
-
Domain names may not include a hyphen as the third or fourth character.
For example the registration of
“xn--xeno.org”
is not possible.

additional services.
For our customers, these services are available without any additional costs.
Costs
You can view the costs for domain registrations in our
price list.
We will send you invoices via postal mail after every successful registration.
Additionally, you can browse your bills online.
Rules of allocation
.org domains can be registered worldwide. The usage was initially reserved
for organizations only, mostly charitable ones. However, an examination if
the registrant actually belongs to the originally intended user circle did
never take place, and still doesn't.
