.name domains: your personal identity in Cyberspace

.name domains are intended solely for natural persons. This rule prevents that companies “grab” domain names. Everyone is allowed to register his or her domain consisting of first name and last name.
Besides the domain itself, a special e-mail service is also available. This way you can get a nice e-mail address matching your domain.
On January 14th, 2004, new allocation rules have become effective. Now, the registration of domain names like smith.name or billy.name is possible as well!
