Introduction
By introducing the Trademark Clearinghouse ICANN established a single point of
contact for trademark owners to either ensure trademark protection regarding the
new Top-Level domains
( nTLDs)
and to also keep efforts for trademark owners as low as possible.
Register once - participate at all Sunrise Phases
From now on Trademark owners or their representatives may register trade mark
names within the TMCH. Once the trade mark is added to the TMCH register,
trademark owners will be able to participate at Sunrise Periods for all
new Top-Level domains. Furthermore, holders of enlisted trademarks will get
notified when someone tries to register identically matching domain names within
the so-called "Trademark Claims" phase.

Avoid additional costs
The proctect your trademark name and to prevent possible costs, which may e.g.
for trademark rights violation lawsuits, trademark owners are well advised
to register their marks with the TMCH.
