However, to actually use the domain name, i.e. to provide a website or to use that domain name for e-mails, you will have to be a member of the »Sponsored Community« of .xxx. But a registration without membership is possible to block the name for usage by third parties.

You will have to prove that you are a member of the adult industry. The registry's membership definition matches a quite large community, however. Actual providers of »Online Adult Entertainment« will be allowed, but also representatives or service providers.

The exact boundaries for the membership definition can only be vaguely assumed. However, presumably the registry won't set extreme limitatios for this membership. After all, ICM Registry is interested in allowing rather than restricting domain registrations.
